All ready to celebrate Father’s Day this June? On Sunday the 18th Dad’s across the UK will be celebrating Fatherhood with their loved ones. Don’t let your Dad miss out! We have lots of exciting new products coming to store that are sure to make dad feel loved. Whether it be mega litre bottles full of delicious sweets  or a box full of 6 bars of fudge, there’s something for every Dad with a sweet tooth out there.

In 1972 Father’s Day was made a permanent national observance in the United States by President Richard Nixon. The idea of having a day to celebrate Father’s came from a lady called Sonora Smart Dodd, who was inspired by the American Mother’s Day. She felt that there needed to be a day to honour father’s and everything that they did.

So, now we know that Father’s Day has been around ever since the 1900’s you have no excuses for not remembering to treat Dad. There are many other ways in which you can make dad feel special. Nottingham is full of exciting things to do with your Dad to celebrate the day. Here’s a list of ideas of how you can spend the day with Dad…

  1. Father’s Day lunch at Ye Olde Bell, Retford DN22 8QS – treat Dads & Granddads to a Sunday Lunch with all the family. Includes 4-course lunch.
  2. Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem Pub – We are pretty sure most dads love a trip to the pub. So why not visit England’s oldest inn in Nottingham. The pub is bursting full of history so book a table and enjoy some pub grub with your dad this Father’s Day.
  3. Cornerhouse – Is the weather not what you had hoped for? Don’t worry there’s still plenty of indoor activities for you and your Dad to enjoy. Why not get yourself down to the cinema to watch the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge, or battle with your dad to a game of gold in Lost City Adventure Golf.

However you spend Father’s Day this year, make it s special one, after all Dads deserve the best.
