Nottingham confectionery retailer The Treat Kitchen have chosen fellow Nottinghamshire business Double Impact as their chosen charity partner for 2018. Established in 1998, Double Impact offer a range of services that help those affected by substance misuse in the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire area.

The partnership has formed as result of The Treat Kitchen’s desire to give back to the Nottingham community – a community they have been part of since their opening in the city center in 2014. In addition, The Treat Kitchen works closely with Double Impact’s social enterprise Café Sobar, located along Friar Lane.
The Treat Kitchen’s Marketing Manager Jodie Baker commented on the partnership. ‘With the volume of collaboration we do with Café Sobar it seemed only natural to pick Double Impact as our chosen charity. We admire what they do and would like to support it and the service users as much as we can’.

This year is Double Impact’s 20th anniversary so there is plenty of celebration and plans in place for the year ahead. The Treat Kitchen will be getting involved by developing a new ‘Double Impact’ dual flavoured sweet where all profits will go straight to the charity. Moreover, the confectionery retailer will also be sponsoring one of the awards at Double Impact’s annual Spirit of recovery Awards – an award ceremony to celebrate the achievements of their service users.

Another highlight of the 20th birthday celebrations will be Double Impact’s CEO Graham Miller and his campaign to run 20 half marathons throughout the year. The final of the 20 runs will be Nottingham’s very own Robin Hood Half marathon on the 30th of September 2018.

Graham is also looking forward to the partnership ‘Having The Treat Kitchen involved in partnership with our charity in its 20th anniversary year will help us to reach a much bigger audience and get the message out that lives don’t need to be destroyed by addiction. We hope that this message will encourage others to support our work by purchasing the goods from The Treat Kitchen where the profit will go directly to the charity or by getting involved in our 20 Half Marathon Campaign at this year’s Robin Hood. We believe that The Treat Kitchen are a strong and authentic business who are genuinely committed to our work and motivated to support our service users’.
