Fran – Baked In and Treat Kitchen Bakery Project Manager
"My interest in baking started like many peoples, helping in the kitchen with my mum and grandmas. Licking the bowls, adding jams to tart cases, cutting out gingerbread, decorating fairy cakes. The sense of nostalgia, reliving memories and of course scoffing yummy treats is very much engrained in my love of baking.
Like so many people, I would sit down religiously to watch Bake Off and it was in 2015 I gave myself the challenge to bake something from each episode. I found it hard to sit still and relax at the weekends, I like being busy and this gave me opportunity to spread some joy with delicious treats for friends and family. I used baking as a coping mechanism for things which were out of my control and I still find it soothing to bake, even if I don’t often have the time to just bake for myself! Watching Bake Off is a great way for me to unwind after work but still be inspirated by new recipes and flavour concepts!
